that this is the job that Dubya wanted all along, to the point that he ran for president in 2000 expecting to lose but figuring that the campaign would shine up his resume for this career move. From The Hardball Times:

It looks like the current president is already planning his life after he saves Social Security (yes, Iím being facetious). Although he hasnít publicly announced it, a couple of friends have said heíd like to get back into the game as commissioner. Itís too bad that job doesnít have term limits, because at least for the time being, Bud Selig is pretty safe and will probably keep the job until he decides he doesnít want it anymore. Selig is the most owner-friendly commissioner ever, and heís one of the boys. The current regime would never give that up.
