Dark Bilious Vapors

But how could I deny that I possess these hands and this body, and withal escape being classed with persons in a state of insanity, whose brains are so disordered and clouded by dark bilious vapors....

01/24/2005: Didja hear about the VW suicide bomber ad?

It's a hoax.

It shows, if you can believe it, a suicide bomber driving up to a café in a VW Polo and trying to detonate a car bomb. But he manages to blow only himself up—the sporty little roadster absorbs the blast, proving that it is “small but tough.”

As if we needed it, we have gotten official word that neither VW nor any of its agencies (including DDB, its lead shop in Europe) had anything to do with this. It is indeed a hoax. Move on, please. Nothing to see here.
Frankly, as a real ad it'd be shocking and sickening. As a spoof of VW ads, I think personally, that it's a stroke of genius. Sick, yes. Tasteless, definitely. But still, a stroke of genius.

If your sense of humor does not include a high tolerance for "tasteless", do not bother looking below the fold. You have been warned.

If you're sick, twisted and demented (like me), and you want to see it, point your browser to:

For the record, you need QuickTime installed. Also, this wouldn't work in Firefox; I had to swallow my purity and use Internet Exploder, instead. But I thought it was worth it.

If you actually laughed, you're probably my kinda guy/girl. If you're ever in Memphis, let me know and I'll buy you a drink.

Good to know. I probably have to figure out how to install the plug in. Or upgrade it; one o'the two.
