Dark Bilious Vapors

But how could I deny that I possess these hands and this body, and withal escape being classed with persons in a state of insanity, whose brains are so disordered and clouded by dark bilious vapors....

01/18/2005: Ok, you blog-traffic whores....

Via Signifying Nothing, here's the surefire way to increase your traffic: state on your blog that you blog naked.

Some days I think the end o'it all just can't happen quickly enough.

I find traffic to my site increases whenever I find an excuse to use the word "porn." I recently got a big spike in hits when I posted about Ashlee Simpson's Orange Bowl halftime performance.

None of this surprises me. My piece called Going Topless (http://madkane.com/goingtopless.html) gets a ton of search engine traffic, and I'm sure it's not what they're looking for. Also, you'd be amazed how many people search Google for the phrase Oprah topless ... and get this:

Again certainly a big disappointment.

I want to thank both of you for mentioning the magic words "porn" and "topless", which are probably sure to up our hit numbers (at least on this entry) by approximately 34%. I'm saddened that I dropped the referrer log in the recent sidebar revisions, as it'd be interesting to see how many hits on this individual page represent Google searches on those terms.
