Dark Bilious Vapors

But how could I deny that I possess these hands and this body, and withal escape being classed with persons in a state of insanity, whose brains are so disordered and clouded by dark bilious vapors....

01/06/2005: Well, he's a weird muse to have....

but lately the lovely and multi-talented MadKane has been finding poetic inspiration in the person of Attorney General designate Alberto Gonzalez. Check out her latest poem on Gonzalez (just follow the handy link there).

And while you're at it, go over to Wampum and check out the nominees for "Most Humorous Blog" category in the Koufax Awards. I hope Mad will forgive me, but I can't bring myself to give her an unqualified, ringing endorsement, because it looks like several other blogfriends of mine besides her have been nominated, and all are worthy competitors for the top prize. So rather than force myself to choose, I'm just going to fall back on my position that such awards exercises are essentially silly, though harmless (so I'm not voting, period). But if you decide to go to Wampum and vote for her, I won't be displeased.

And I won't be displeased if you cast your vote for A Perfectly Cromulent Blog, Happy Furry Puppy Story Time with Norbizness, Ayn Clouter, or WTF Is It NOW?!?, either.

They're all great nominees, Len, and I'm proud to be included in that list. Thanks a lot for the lovely mention!

My pleasure. I'm seriously conflicted about this one, since there are a number of nominees that I've had personal dealings with over email, and they're all deserving entries.

Best of luck to you!
