07/27/2004: A change of nickname will soon be in order....
from the "Billy-Ball" email newsletter:
PRINCE ALBERTRight now, per Baseball Reference, Albert's canonical nicknames are "Phat Albert" or "Prince Albert". "Prince Albert" is definitely suggestive of the man's greatness, but the philosopher in me yearns to start lobbying the baseball sachems to add "Albert the Great" to the list. Or if you're one of those traditionalist, pre-Vatican II types I won't object to Albertus Magnus.
A moment of appreciation for 24-year old Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals. Pujols has already has hit 143 big-league home runs and 454 RBI. At similar stages of their careers, Barry Bonds had half the home runs and half the RBI.
