to Wil Wheaton's website (not a site I follow at all, but ever since Wil publicly came out as a Linux geek wannabe (at least) once upon a time--though I don't know if he kept with it or not--I've forgiven him for Wesley Crusher), where I did see this quite laudable suggestion, which I pass on for what it's worth:
If you have a Gmail invite, why not donate it to gmail4troops.com and help a soldier feel a little bit closer to home?And why should we give GMail invites to the troops? gmail4troops.com points out:
People are swapping invites for silly things. Troops abroad have a real use for these accounts. Loved ones can send them movies or photos from home and they don't have to worry about having to delete things.If you've got a spare GMail invite or three you don't know what to do with, consider that possibility.
